Background
A lifetime in the building trade.
As a young child, Gregg developed a love for the building trade, learning how to build with his father. Before and after college he developed his skills building homes and problem solving for several high-end builders.
He took a brief break from the construction trade to perform mechanical design and production control at OptiScan Biomedical in Alameda, an infrared optics lab building a blood glucose measuring device. He then returned to the industry with Ryan Associates in San Francisco, where his roles included foreman, special projects and in-house conflict resolution.
In 2006 he began litigation and waterproofing consulting with Weir Andrewson & Associates in San Rafael. He joined Richard Avelar & Associates in Oakland in 2007, where he took a lead expert role in several large-scale construction defect matters.
Today he leads de Haan & Associates Construction Consulting, Inc., the firm he founded, based in Walnut Creek, California.
